Description Faculty and staff with an interest were solicited; students showing an interest were also invited. Kicked efforts off with a Faculty Inservice Workshop to gather suggestions for sustainability projects that were entered into a comprehensive database. Projects were divided by topic and categorized by priority. Six Action Teams (Recycling, Hazardous Waste, Environmental Literacy, Conservation, Carbon Emissions, and Campus Woodlands Sustainability)were created to focus on specific areas. Action Teams report to an Overarching Green Committee.

1. Establish a policy that all new campus construction will be built to at least the U.S. Green Building Council's LEED Silver standard or equivalent.

Yes: We are currently building a state-of-the-art LEED building that will serve as the research facility for the National Great Rivers Research and Education Center. Future construction will be built with LEED silver standards in mind.
