Description In June of 2007, The Campus Life Committee recognized a need for an audit of JTS’s current green practices, where we stand, where we should be headed, and how we could begin to adjust our operations to create a more environmentally-friendly campus. Subsequently, the Campus Life Committee formed a sub committee appropriately titled the “JTS Green Committee. One of the first goals of the newly formed sub-committee was to sign the ACUPCC, and to set priorities about which items should go into action immediately and over the next semester.

In addition to our administrative committee, JTS formed "EcoReps", the student branch of the Green Committee, who are devoted to raising communal awareness and implementing institutional action through student participation. Their goals include educating members of the JTS community about “greener” living and how to reduce their personal environmental impact, acting as liaisons between members of the JTS community and the administration, and creating change to improve the environmental impact of JTS
